For some years my HTS7500 was connected to a Sony television (source connected to a set-top box) and all worked fine untill I changed the Sony by a Samsung and now the sound from the TV through optical out is just in stereo. The Samsung manual tells me to connect to a device that supports ARC and connect the HTS to the set-top box through the optical connection. That works only fine while wachting TV from the set-top box but when the TV is playing content from internet or external devices there is no way to get sound from the TV to the HTS. The Sony TV also provided extra audio-outputs but the Samsung does not! The HTS is connected to HDMI2 (Arc) of the TV and when selected it shows HDMI2 (Anynet+).
Is there a way to get audio from the TV's HDMI to a kind of break-out box that supports ARC and then connect that box to an audio input of the HTS7500? Will ARC then work and will CEC stay intact?
