can anyone briefly explain the fundamental differences between NP3900 and NP2900? Is NP3500 the same device as NP3900 just without boxes?

Hi

NP 2900 & 3900 are similar looking but featurewise there is a big difference. NP3900 has touch control, smartphone control & services like spotify & also a dock connector. NP 2900 does not have all that.

NP 3500 is NP 3900 without speakers & has digital 7 analog outputs to connect to your existing amp/receiver. It does not have touch controls also.

Thank you very much indeed, you've been very clear and exhaustive. I just realise that NP2900 is no longer available on the market. I've also come across NP3700 and NP3300. Ttheir design is quite different from NP3900. Are their functions also different?

The NP 3700 is a 2 speaker system. NP 3900 is a 4 speaker system. Except sound, all other functionalities are almost the same. If you are OK with 2 speaker system & styling, NP3700 could be a better choicefor wifi performance. If you are not going to use far away from router, NP 3900 is also good .
