I've tried even the following strategy:
the TV PFL8605M/08 has got the HDMI1 ARC that is 1.4.
In order to avoid problems, as the soundbar manual says, I've connected the COAXIAL cable from the soundbar to the TV.
The HDMI ARC cable can be used ONLY if the TV and the sound bar are both 1.4 HDMI (the HTS5120/12 has got a HDMI OUT only 1.3)
The problem is still there: the intermittent sound lost is always there!

Since the latest firmware i lost many times the sound of the tv (140-27). I've a 9705 tv.
Before the update I had no problem with the sound.
Sound goes of for a few seconds and after the few seconds it comes back.

In my case the sound interruption is related to the connection with the Soundbar (external amplifier).
The TV alone works very well from this point of view.

I'm using it without an external home theatre system.
This evening i did a full reboot of the tv, because the sound was like a computer modem.
When i shutdown the tv en put is on again the sound was better.

I don't know,
you could chat form 8 am to 8 pm directly with Philips in order to send your question and receive a feedback immediately.

Dear PHilips,
in my case (37PFL8605M/08), the installation of the latest firmware (vers. 140.27) is still not the solution!!!!
The intermittent sound lost with an external device connected (via HDMI or Digital Audio OUT (S/Pdif) with the HTS5120 PHilips still remains !!!!!!!!!!!
What does it mean?
Please let me know.

And nothing about my Wii connected via YPrPb
Judging from the users here, using the .27. FW, and still complaining about the same issues, i do get the feeling nobody from Philips is reading our input. I think they're ignoring us as hard as the problem itself. Feeling this way, i'm considering returning my set...

Hi,
the problem is, that with an message such as "does not work" or "is still present" one can't fix the problem (from developers view). You need to reproduce the error in the development department...
