BDP5200 cannot play DTS audio in MKV container
I tried F/W versions 1.16, 1.35, 1.55 and 1.61. Though the video plays, I hear no audio.
Other formats play fine and I can hear the audio.
Here is the mediainfo :
Audio
ID : 2
Format : DTS
Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems
Mode : 16
Format settings, Endianness : Big
Codec ID : A_DTS
Duration : 1h 39mn
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 3646 Kbps
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE
Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
Bit depth : 16 bits
Compression mode : Lossy
Stream size : 2.53 GiB (31%)
Language : English
Default : Yes
Forced : No
DTS seems to be a supported format. I am playing this MKV file off a powered hard disk connected to the USB. This file plays fine on VLC player on PC.

You maybe right.
The XLS sheet in this thread , states that the max bitrate is 1.54Mbps
However, I thought I did play HD 6 channel DTS via blu-ray.
Can someone from Philips mods please confirm that indeed such a high bitrate is not supported.

The product brochure for BDP5200 does say that DTS-HD is supported.

Hi,
with MKV (or any media file) only DTS CORE is supported - not the HD formats...
On Blu-ray also the HD formats are supported - as written in the product specification.
