Hi Nahum,
Sorry for the inconvenience, at the moment only Latin-1 and Western European (ISO-8859-1) subtitle character sets are supported.
I will forward your request to the development team, however I can't provide you any date for a possible amendment.
In the meantime it would possible to see subtitles other than ISO-8859-1 format by embedding them in the video file.
Regards,

Hi,
from my experiences, this is a management decision to implement this new feature... so, don't expect to have this new feature in a future update.
Many people tried this for 2010 and 2011 TVs... no chance at all...

Hey Alex, Thank for your replay.
Philips needs to understand that for high-end TV such as 55PFL8007 pepole have great exepection and something relatively small such as supporting subtitle can ruined all your sense of satisfaction from this product.
Also - The fact that Philips TV does not support Hebrew cripple the sales of this brand in Israel ALOT (as pepole choose other brands that bring lower Image Quality but better support in Customer Needs) and this is a Managment decision right there...
My request for Philips Support is to give better visibility on the status of this request in the RnD organization and emphasize that in Israel this feature is rather important to the Customer.

Nahum.
