Connecting Phillips tv to Samsung sound bar

We bought a wonderful Phillips TV for Christmas (40pfl4706) and a Samsung sound bar (hw-e450) that we were assured were completely compatible. We receive tv through an antenna and the TV works great, just beautiful! However we cannot get it hooked up to the sound bar. We tried AUX and HDMI, it appears to be trying to receive information from the sound bar instead of sending the sound to the sound bar. What are we doing wrong?
    Thanks!!

    Hi Quayrida,

Sorry to see you're having problems with your television and sound bar

I can advise, that with the 40PFL4706, the best way to get sound from the TV is to connect it to the sound bar using either of the following connections on the television:

    - HDMI1 (ARC)
    - Digital Audio Out

You can view where the connections are on the diagrams on this link.

Hopefully, you'll be able to get connected now in time for Christmas

    Rafe

dont forget the HDMI ARC bug, wich makes multichannel Dolby and DTS audio unusable on the HTS when it gets passed thrue the TV to HDMI (ARC) or Toslink
