TV wont show subs

the name of the movie should be the same as the subtitle.


filmul terbuie sa aiba fix acelasi nume cu subtitrarea. a vezi ca extensia subtitrarii sa fie corecta.
adica: .srt sa-ti arate timpul si .sub sa-ti arate frames la care sa apara randul de subtitrare.

unde pot sa vad timpul si frames unde sa apara randul de subtitrare la srt. si sub.?
trebuie sa am si fisier .srt si fisier .sub?
ca eu am doar unul care e subtitrarea..

deschide cu notepad subtitrarea si vezi daca ai:

00:03:23:789->00:03:25:120 sange pe pereti!!!

inseamna ca subtitrarea e in format subrip si ar terbui sa aiba extensia .srt

iar daca eu de forma:

012345:43124321 sange pe pereti,

inseamna ca subtitrarea e in microdvd format si ar trebui sa aiba extensia .sub

daca sunt inversate, pune extensia corecta.

it still not working
the film and the subtitles file have the same name

yes.. my problem is that the tv does not show subtitles.

I think you (and I) cannt do anything because Philips has to solve it. I have - as written before - the same probllem not only with mkv files (and correct srt) but also with .vob files. Not only the subtitle but also the audio (diff. languages) can not be selected (from the vob files).

I do not like to say/write but we'd better buy a Samsung TV because Samsung fixed the problem with subtitles and languages after users complained about this.

The odd thing is that nobody, except some users react in this thread.

did you tried to activate the subtitle from the menu?

do you have subtitle button on the remote?

Yes I have, but I use - as written in the manual - the Options button to select audio and subtitles. However it does not work witk mkv and vob files at Philips TV (at Samung TV it works)

the subtitle is external file? if it is embedded the tv won;t read it.

Hehe I really know what I am doing. As written before it is working on my STB so the mkv file and the appr. srt file are ok. Yes of course they have the same name.

At the other hand I also tried mkv files with subtitles and languages embedded but that did not work and actually should work when you buya TV for that money.

Thirdly I also tried vob files which are at every DVD, and yes subtitles and audio are then embedded, however this is also not working at Philips TV.

I really wonder why it is not workind and - even worse - why is it not fixed in a software update.
