46PFL8007K/12 - problems with USB flashdisk?
Hello, I installed new 46PFL8007K/12. The picture and ambilight are both briliant.
I have checked firmware and found out there are already more recent versions. I took 16GB Hama flashdisk formatted with FAT32 + 4096 as unit size and copied extracted autorun.upg of that most recent version.
But when I attached flashdisk to TV it prints "detected USB, trying to read files ..." and nothing else happens.
My actual firmware which came with new TV is QF1EU-0.150.48.13 Release for Fusion R2 QF1EU-0,150.48.13-bld3a Generation date 28/10/2012 23:28:31.
I went through ChangeLog of all releases and found statement of one fix that it fixes problem with some USB flashdisks being not recognized properly. Could that be a problem? Shall I try to connect another USB kind of disk? I'm just affraid I will buy another e.g. USB disk and that will also not work. Thanks.

You can trythis:
1.Pull out the mains
2.Press and hold "ok" on RC
3.Connect the Mains (still hold "ok" for 20 seconds)
Ifa softwareupdate-screen is coming, download and install the latestsoftware.
1.Download Software
2.Create folder "upgrades" at usb drive
3.put autorun.upg into this folder
4.Drive into tv
5.Start update

Hi,
then you are doing something wrong.
- pull power cord
- press OK and keep pressing OK while replugging power cord
- still keep pressing OK, until the menu is visible

I exactly followed two previous advises and still have a feeling that it really does not recognize USB flashdisk. I'm gonna buy new one. As a test I copied some JPEGs and TV again did not recognize USB flashdisk. I used flashdisk since 4 years ago to record programs on set-top-box but never had any problem reported while recording.

I guess that update prompt shall show up regardless of USB problem itself. Or am I wrong? But this really does not come. One more question - shall I pull power cord when TV is running? Or should I switch of to standby and then reconnect power cord? If reconnect pwer cord and TV was previously in stand-by then even when I keep OK pressed TV does nothing till I switch it on on RC. In both cases no prompt for sw-update comes.

I finally managed to install latest firmware. I bought cheap 4GB TDK flashdisk and with that one I successfully installed new firmware on my 46PFL8007K/12. Thanks all of you trying to help out. I still have a problem with SmartTV, but I hope I will get it running. Hopefully not spending entire christmas time in front of TV and notebook:-)

The problem of not functional flashdisk dissapeared buy using another one to make an upgrade. Now even previous flashdisk works fine. 150.81 firmware fixes the problem. See ChangeLog - the problem of not recognized flashdisks is mentioned also there.
