Using single USB drive for recording and mass storage
Hi,
I bought 40pfl4007 smart tv recently.
Is it possible to have single usb external hardrive for both recording and as a usb mass storage. I played a little and create two partitions on the drive, one of type xfs for recording and one ntfs partition for storage. And while recording works I can't see the device listed in usb devices menu.
Is it maybe possible to temporarily disable the recording functionality of the TV?
Any thoughts?

Hi,
as far as I know, it's possible with some manual changes.
- first let the TV format the whole disc
- then use a partition tool on your PC to decrease the partition
- create a new partition in the rest of the hard disc

Hi,
Thanks for really quick reply.
I kind of did just that: first format the drive with the TV, then switch the drive to computer where I found out that the drive is formatted with xfs. I then try to shrink the partition, but found out xfs doesn't support shrinking(at least not gparted with xfs tools). So I backuped the contents of partition, delete it, create smaller, restore the content. Then created another ntfs partition and plug drive into TV.
Now, the recording works as if nothing happened, but the second partition TV won't list.
Should I experiment with different filesystem types of the second partition? Any other suggestions?
