BDP9600 problems
Hi,
Just bought a new blue ray player for christmas. Beautifull images from the discs it will play
BUT: two things:
1) turns black now and then without any reason, sound then continues I can restart and then continue +/- where we were.
2) Does not recognize new discs just bought in a normal shop at our village: Avatar 3d: "unknown disc" Star wars blue ray version, (not 3d) the complete box: "unknown disc"
I went to configurations and asked to look for new software but the machine says there is no new software (or firmware better)
Anyone knows how to fix this? Pretty disappointing for such an expensive player!

Hi,
please see support website for latest firmware update. However, if unknown disc appears, this is an indication that the disc loader will break in due time... It's a known issue and time for service.

So it means I will have to return the player to the shop where we bouht it I guess?
Best regards, and best wishes...

Hi,
yes - best option, if the latest firmware 1.63 does not solve that.

Hello,
the same here, this time with the Jurassic park trilogy, discs two and three... "UNKNOWN DISC". Surprisingly, everything else plays fine. Upgraded FW from 1.61 to 1.63, did not help. Discs are OK, brand new and checked in another player.
BDP9600, bought 12 months ago. So, time to repair? :-)

Yep as it looks like unknown disc is a loader issue better do so.
