32PFL5605M/08: MHP tv set with OTTV not working..
hello,
i'm Andrea, this is my first post here.
i live in Italy and got a Philips 32PFL5605M/08.
here, we have interactive tv services based on MHP and this tv is compliant with MHP and is branded "Bollino Gold".
but there's a service that's not working at all, it's Over the top television using "broadband addendum".
La7 is doing a service called "La7 On Demand" where you can see old episodes from the internet channel.
i know people with external decoder like Telesystem 7900HD can download and see these stream.
in my Philips tv set i can see the application running but when i click to download the video, it says me "device not supported".
could someone share some lighe about this issue?

Dear Andrea,
I've tried yesterday to verify it: MHP service is not working on La7 and La7D.
For "La7 on Demand" it says that the service is not avaliable.

thanx for the quck answer.. and sorry for the wrong details
the problem was on Cubovision program (LCN 999). if you get there it says "no program". it's obviously misleading.. ;-)
then you go on the MHP list, and see two applications: Launcher and Cubovision
if you put off the autostart (first option) you can choose to launch Cubovision. i did it and i went to web.tv and choose a "replica" of yesterday La7 news and i got "sorry unsupported device!", see this picture..
!
On the TS7900HD it works..
do you have any info about this issue?

by the way, i checked again on the channel number 807 ("La7 On Demand"), here there's a fixed screen.
i saw here too there's another MHP application called "La7 On Demand" where you can see the past schedule with small thumbnail of available events to be re-played. but, if i choose one, i get again an "Unsupported device" error message.
Here the screenshot with many details embedded (i was lucky to have my Philips make the mash-up pressing the "MHP button" on the remote..)

some questions about MHP level in Philips 5605M/08
hi,
thanx in advance for the creation of this "sub-forum" related to MHP.
i have to correct slightly the info provided in the introductory post.
- MHP is strong in Italy and run mainly on DVB-T (not DVB-C we don't have it here) and also on DVB-S (thanx to the Italian platform Tivusat who deliver EPG ver a MHP application)
- MHP applications start from the air BUT can also use IP channel for more data transfer and also stream download on demand. MHP is the basis of italian flavour of Hybrid Broadcast and Broadband TV
this second point raises me a question for people "in the know". which level is the MHP stack embedded in the PFL5605M/08 tv ?
which features are REALLY available in the stack? for example:
- does support Mpeg Stream over http?
- does support Persistent apps stored into the flash of the TV?
- which kind of secure layer for crypted transaction over IP (SSL TSL whatever..)
that's enough for now. i hope these new features could eventually boost a grow of MHP based content from italian broadcasters..

Thanx for the reply. let me frankly tell you is a bit "disappointing".. :-(
we want to know WHEN this "broadband addendum" will be available on our Philips TV set with GOLD LABEL. i suppose it's mandatory! am i wrong?
in the last few days, Mediaset, the main commercial operator launched its Video On Demand service using MHP technology called Mediaset NetTv:
http://www.v-net.tv/NewsDisplay.aspx?id=672
It's clear to me that any x605M/08 tv set should be compliant with such a service, otherwise WHY is it labeled GOLD?

(more than) one month is passed from last mail...
any news about the broadband addendum support for Italian Philips tv set?
is this 2010 tv set already out of support?
the recent 140.32 ver. firmware seems a sign of life!
anyone care to comment?
bye

it's not a surprise as you still have a 2010 TV (i see it from the last 5 in the model number befor M/08..)
i'm wondering if at least 2011 lineup, the XXX6M/08 tv sets, are compatible with VOD from La7 and RAI.
also Rai begun a VOD service for their regional programming on Rai Sport1 (the app is called TGR)
anyone could shed some light on 2011 lineup features?
i could eventually swap my Philips set to latest
