I have had this TV (original cost £2000) for two and a half years now and have now experienced two major problems.

The latest problem has just happened where suddenly the picture has turned dark and it is not possible to read the text (eg menu/TV source). I note from an old forum thread the same problem was highlighted for this and other Philips models.

This is therefore a known problem for Philips. Question is - what is the cause and what is the remedy?
