Stretching 4:3 to 16:9 on BluRay
Hello, this may have been asked before, so I apologise if it has. I recently purchased The Next Generation on BluRay, and the video format is in 4:3. I thought my BluRay player might automatically stretch this as I have the setting on 16:9 widescreen, however, it doesn't. I have tried every setting on the scaling options, but none of them seem to stretch it. Setting it to 4:3 seems to widen it slightly, but still not streched to full screen.
Can anybody help me on this one? Or is there no way I can watch a 4:3 blu ray in full screen? (Note, my DVDs DO stretch to full screen when they are displayed in 4:3, which is why I find it odd that my BluRay doesn't).
Thank you.

Hi,
the definition of Blu-ray states, that the image is ALWAYS 16:9. Even if the content is only 4:3... then black bars are added to the left/right to have a 16:9 image...
